V Australia - Virgin Airlines

Virgin Blue's new international longhaul airline and livery, V Australia, has hit the scene. V Australia will be operating flights return non-stop between Australia and the United States commencing late 2008. The airline was given permission for 10 flights a week to the US by Australian regulators on 24 July 2007, however it is still awaiting approval by US regulators.

V Australia's affordable fares and outstanding service on the Trans Pacific route will operate in the very same way Virgin Blue has done in the domestic Australian market.

Virgin Blue's chief, Brett Godfrey, predicts that the new airline will be profitable within 2 years of its first flight. The first Boeing 777-300ER will be named "Didgeree Blue".

So far, a total of 76 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft are in airline service with Air Canada, Air New Zealand, All Nippon Airways, Emirates Airline, Etihad Airways, EVA Air, Japan Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and Air France. Firm orders total 173 and include Air India, Cathay Pacific, Jet Airways, Pakistan International Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Qatar Airways, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, TAM Linhas Aéreas, and V Australia.
